Post-match conversation between Koeman and Laporta has been revealed
After Barcelona’s 4-0 triumph over Atletic Club, the Blaugrana’s president, Joan Laporta, and their manager were seen to be deep in conversation as Barcelona were handed the Copa del Rey trophy.
According to
Diario Sport, the club’s newly-elected president conveyed all his confidence to Koeman as well as congratulating him on the achievement he earned.
After a slow start to the season, the Catalan giants were able to retain their form as the Copa del Rey trophy will be proof of that.
However, Laporta made sure to underline that Barcelona need to build on this momentum and go for the league title as the team hasn’t peaked yet.
Lionel Messi scored a brace as Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie De Jong each scored once in their Copa del Rey victory.
