Maddison is disappointed in himself according to his boss

Brendan Rodgers thinks that Maddison is a young player that has made a mistake.

James Maddison

is available for

Leicester’s

next clash against Southampton, and

Brendan Rodgers

says that he is disappointed in himself because of what he has done, but he refused to comment on the incident’s effect on Maddison’s selection for the national team, saying that he doesn’t talk about England selection to his player.

Breaking the rules about the coronavirus outbreak could damage the player’s reputation and the possibility of his selection by the national team manager Gareth Southgate, although Rodgers thinks that it was a mistake and the player understands what he has done.

"I don't know,"

said Rodgers

. "I'm not picking the England squad, I only look at Leicester and just concerned really with what we do here at Leicester.

"I don't speak to him on England, to be honest. He was very remorseful. I've always said I've loved working with him. He's a young player that has made a mistake. He was man enough to hold his hand up, he wasn't hiding from it, he was bitterly disappointed at himself and letting his team-mates down."

Southampton clash would be Leicester City’s chance to reach FA Cup finals for the first time since 1969, and Brendan Rodgers does not want his key players distracted by anything, including the fact that they are on a stage that the club has not experienced in 39 years. This can even be the reason behind some of his opinions about the Covid breach.
