The Spanish coach had an interesting problem in the early days of his time at Arsenal.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has claimed that at the start of his time in north London, he could not have found a suitable position for Bukayo Saka.

Saka, who joined the first team from

Arsenal

Academy in 2018, became a regular player in Unay Emery's era. After replacing Emery, Arteta helped Saka progress even further and perform very well, but now the Spanish coach has confirmed that he could not find a position for Saka at the beginning of his time at Arsenal.

Arteta told Sky Sports:

"That's why I tried to play him in different positions, to see how he reacted.

"I wanted to test his character as well because he was playing as a left-back and I know it wasn't his ideal position but he had to go through that period."

Asked about Saka's special talent, Arteta replied:

"Intelligence. We talk about physicality, we talk about spirit, we talk about technique. But the brain is the one that makes all the decisions.

"'B' makes a lot of good decisions because he is such an intelligent player who can read situations. And after that, of course, he has the ability to execute them the right way and that's obviously a big quality."
