Former Juventus striker believes Gasperini should replace Pirlo

Former Juventus striker Raffaele Palladino believes Gian Piero Gasperini should replace Andrea Pirlo.

Juventus

are 12 points behind

Serie A

table leaders

Inter

and are probably going to miss their tenth Scudetto in a row.

Even a top-four finish is not guaranteed as fifth-placed Napoli are only three points behind the Old Lady with nine games remaining until the end of the season.

Juventus are going to face

Atalanta

, who are only one point behind them, on Sunday and it seems dismissing

Andrea Pirlo

is probable.

Former Juventus striker

Raffaele Palladino

believes

Gian Piero Gasperini

, whom Palladino at Crotone and in Juventus’ youth sector played under, should replace

Andrea Pirlo

.

“He has his own method and a strong personality. He imposes himself when he joins a new club,”

Palladino told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I think he would be the ideal coach for players like [Federico] Chiesa and [Dejan] Kulusevski.

“I’ve been saying the same thing for six-seven years. Gasperini is ready for Juventus,”

his former assistant

Vincenzo Chiarenza

added.

“His playing style is modern and would be perfect for so many Juventus players. Gasperini knows the environment really well and has everything to succeed in a club like Juventus.”

Gasperini was a coach at Juventus’ youth sector for ten years and it was before taking the charge at Atalanta in 2016. He then was able to earn two successive top-four finishes with La Dea and now is in a race for a third one.
