Udinese forward praises Antonio Conte’s ‘crazy mentality’ and claiming he will soon end Juventus’ reign over Serie A.

Inter

are experiencing their best run in the Italian top-flight in recent years, as the Antonio Conte’s men are leading in the table with 74 points. The Nerazzurri have the chance to end

Juventus

’ long reign over Serie A and get their hands on the Scudetto for the first time since 2010.

Udinese

forward

Fernando Llorente

, who won the league title under Conte at Juventus back in 2013-14 season, has praised Conte’s ‘crazy mentality’ in an interview with

La Gazzetta dello Sport

, claiming he knew that the Italian coach would end Juve’s domination.

“Antonio was fundamental for me. As soon as I arrived at Juve, I thought I was in a good condition. We started working hard and went down, down, down. I wasn’t used to those workloads. I also thought Antonio was crazy,”

Llorente said while laughing.

“I was struggling to recover, but then he organized a series of friendlies with Serie D and non-League teams to help me settle in.

“He trusted me and soon the goals arrived. Conte has a crazy mentality, he gets in your head, he transmits conviction of self-esteem.

“He’s a coach who makes you win.”

The 36-year-old added:

“I thought he would soon end the domination of my Juve.

“Antonio won in his first year in Turin, his first year at Chelsea and he will win in his second year at Inter.

“He’s capable of any feat. There are no traps. Inter are very strong and knowing Antonio, the Scudetto is now a closed case.”
