"Roma are an entertaining team. They want to win playing a certain kind of football," Ajax coach
Erik ten Hag
said at a press conference.
He then talked about whether
could feature in the game tomorrow.
"It's not a problem that will keep him out of action for a long time," Ten Hag revealed.
"However, we still have to figure out whether he can play tomorrow or not. Today we want him to train. Let's see how he'll feel."
However, Stekelenburg is not the only Ajax player in doubt for the Amsterdam ArenA tie.
"Schuurs has problems at his knee. Sean Klaiber became a father, and both Blind and Mazraoui are not fit and are not eligible to play.
"I have 16-17 players available. We kept winning despite being without Onana or Haller and Blind. They are strong footballers, but we can also win without them and playing good football."
Although Ajax have not been able to win their last ten home games against Serie A clubs, Ten Hag believes they can eliminate Roma as they did with Juventus two years ago.
"The last time we were eliminated in the Champions League group stage by Atalanta. But we eliminated Juventus two years ago. I wouldn't mind the same result."
