Juventus rethinking Alvaro Morata option

Tue 06 April 2021 | 21:53

Based on reports in Italy and Spain, the Spain international may get sent back to Atletico Madrid only one year into his loan spell at Juventus.

Alvaro Morata

joined

Juventus

with a €10m loan contract that included an option to buy for €45m in 2021. The deal also allows them to put pen to paper for a loan extension for another €10m which makes the purchase option to be worth €35m in 2022.

According to

La Gazzetta dello Sport

and

Diario AS

, however, Juve are not certain of their decision. The 28-year-old has not been running on a rich vein of form recently due to his injury and health problems and Juventus are also facing a financial crisis which are all raising doubts.

Extending the deal for another €10m is a possibility; however, Juve would be paying €20m in two years with no final results. If the Bianconeri get qualified for the Champions League, which is not certain, they decide on whether to extend his deal.
