Dortmund plan to retain Haaland but are open to offers for Sancho

Borussia Dortmund’s chief has commented on the rumors about their two star players, claiming that they are planning to retain both players’ services.

Borussia Dortmund

are keen on keeping

Erling Haaland

for the next campaign, but are open to “exceptional offers” for

Jadon Sancho

, according to the Bundesliga club’s CEO,

Hans-Joachim Watzke

.

The Norway international is catching the attention of many big clubs around the world after his talismanic performance for Dortmund this season.

Watzke stated that the club is not thinking about cashing in on the 20-year-old, but revealed that Sancho may be departing if a suitable offer is made in the summer.

"

We do not have a parallel plan. We will discuss this with Erling, his father and his agent Mino Raiola,"

Watzke told

Goal

and

DAZN

.

"We also want him to be happy to stay with us, to score goals for BVB next year with conviction. There is no alternative plan."

When asked if both players will stay at Dortmund for the next season, he responded: "I'm not getting involved in probabilities, it's no good. Jadon Sancho has been with us much longer than Erling Haaland. We'll have to speak to Jadon too.

"If there is an exceptional offer we will discuss it with the player and the agent, as always. Nonetheless, I am very sure that the transfer market will only run to a very limited extent this summer.

"Especially at the really big clubs you can see what kind of wounds coronavirus has inflicted, and they are not small ones that heal within two weeks."

According to reports, the Norwegian’s agent Mino Raiola and his father Alf-Inge went to Spain to negotiate with

Barcelona

and

Real Madrid

. They are also speculated to be open to meeting with some Premier League clubs as they look for the best move for Haaland.

Among the clubs keen on putting pen to paper with the Dortmund star are

Manchester City

,

Manchester United

,

Chelsea

,

Liverpool

,

Paris Saint-Germain

, and

Juventus

.

Sancho experienced Haaland’s situation last year as the Red Devils eyed the 21-year-old in their search for a right winger. However, United could not meet the England international’s £100 million price tag. Recent reports claim that they may reignite their pursuit in the summer transfer window.

Sancho’s contract at Dortmund is due to expire in two years but the offers are not as high as last year given his performance this season.

Dortmund may decide to sell the player amid the financial crisis caused by the pandemic.
