Solskjaer says that Martial could miss the rest of the season.

Manchester United’s

head coach

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

has confirmed that

Anthony Martial

could miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury he picked up on national duty.

Martial was injured in France’s match against Kazakhstan last week in World Cup qualifying.

Here is what Solskjaer has said about the French forward in his press conference:

"Unfortunately, he sprained his knee with France.

"It's always when they go away on internationals… you can keep your fingers crossed and hope they come back fit.

"Losing Anthony for what might be the rest of the season is very disappointing, especially when reports from there [France] was that it wasn't anything serious, but it looks a bad one."

After possibly losing the chance to play in the Red Devils’ current campaign, his fitness for the rescheduled Euro 2020 is in doubt too.

The 25-year-old France international has been experiencing a bad season at Old Trafford, scoring only four goals in 22 games in the Premier League which is bad for him because he scored 17 goals for the club last season in the PL.

However, the Red Devils’ stats in his presence have been better than the times that he was benched. They have an average of two goals with him on the pitch and 1.6 without him. And their winning percentage when Martial is playing is 59.1 while they have won 42.9 percent of their games without him.
