Solskjaer offers Donny van de Beek hope to revive Man Utd career
Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has struggled for both minutes and form since joining the Red Devils but now has gained the confidence to be back on the fold.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
believes that the 23-year-old midfielder has come out stronger from the international break. The midfielder was plagued by a muscle injury for most of 2021. But he managed to participate in the World Cup qualifiers against
Latvia
and
Gibraltar
and has made a good impression on Solskjaer in recent days in Manchester.
The Norwegian has offered the £37-million midfielder the chance to revitalize his United career in the final games of the season after a disappointing start to life in England.
“Sometimes, it’s natural that if you don’t play, you have injuries, you lose a bit of confidence, that spark,"
the Red Devils boss said in his pre-match press conference ahead of his side's return to Premier League action against
Brighton.
"I can talk from my own experience. Sometimes I went away to play with Norway and came back, just to get the feel about yourself back and feel better. He’s come back and, in training this morning, he scored some absolute top, top goals that I’d be really proud of myself. It’s done him the world of good going away, scoring a goal for Holland.
“We hope we can see a lot of that for the next seven or eight weeks of the season and then to kick on again.”
