“So disrespectful” - Amauri slams Juve players

Sat 03 April 2021 | 14:15

The former striker Amauri criticizes Weston McKennie, Paulo Dybala, and Arthur for the party during the lockdown. ‘It’s embarrassing on a global scale and so disrespectful.’

Juventus

are set to go against

Torino

on Saturday; however,

Weston McKennie

,

Paulo Dybala

, and

Arthur

will not feature.

Juve coach

Andrea Pirlo

dropped the trio after they were caught in a get-together at McKennie’s house, breaking lockdown restrictions.

I had hoped it was an April Fools’ Day joke, but instead it was all true,”

Amauri

told

TuttoJuve

.

“It was so disrespectful not just towards the club and fans, but also all those people who make sacrifices to respect the rules.

“We’re still in the middle of a pandemic, where people die every day. Players broke the curfew rules in my day, but the context here is totally different.

“Doing that a few days before a very important derby just makes it even worse. This is such a huge game and they ought to be fully focused.

“They were irresponsible. There are no excuses, it’s embarrassing on a global scale for Juventus.”
