Mason Mount may miss the World Cup qualifier against Poland

Tue 30 March 2021 | 12:45

The England international may not feature for England in their World Cup qualifier battle against Poland as he was absent on Tuesday’s training session.

Mason Mount

has been doing recovery work in the gym instead of training on Tuesday. He may not play for

England

when they lock horns with

Poland

in the World Cup qualifier clash on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old met the target in England’s 2-0 victory over

Albania

on Sunday and was running on a rich vein of form as his country won both of their qualifier battles.

Mount, who has scored four goals in 15 games for his side, played for 45 minutes in the clash against San Marino which came down to a thumping victory.

Poland have pronounced four cases of coronavirus, but the game will go according to plan. Lukasz Skorupski, Mateusz Klich, Grzegorz Krychowiak and Kamil Piatkowski have all tested positive for Covid-19.

Robert Lewandowski

is struggling with a knee injury he sustained in the clash against Andorra and is a doubt for Poland on Wednesday.
