Deschamps praises Martial following France victory

’s rich vein of form following a 2-0 victory over Kazakhstan.

The reigning world champions sealed the victory courtesy of

Ousmane Dembele

’s goal and an own goal that was scored in the second half which helped them have their first win after drawing the battle against Ukraine.

Martial was included in the starting XI but had to leave the pitch as he picked up an injury in the second half.

Deschamps talked about Martial and Dembele’s form, saying:

“They did some interesting things.

“Ousmane has confirmed that he’s getting back on the right track. He’s capable of repeated sprints and making the difference. He was rewarded with his goal.

“Anthony was behind the opening goal. It’s good for them both.

“From the moment I selected them, they are in the squad to be used. I have other attackers in this squad. But for the profile of the opponent, it was important to commit opponents and to dribble.

“They both did it pretty well.”

The 25-year-old featured for a few more minutes after sustaining the injury; however, he had to be replaced.
