Germany head coach has talked about their 35-year-old goalkeeper’s form.

Neuer

has been an important player for

Germany

and

Bayern Munich

, but his spot in the national team has been questioned by the critics suggesting that he is old. The Die Mannschaft manager

Joachim Low

insists that the 35-year-old goalkeeper still has a few years ahead of him.

Here is what Low said about Neuer’s form in his press conference ahead of their match against Romania:

"At the moment he makes a completely well-trained impression.

"He's turned 35, he's had an incredible career so far. He is highly motivated, still has big goals, is hungry for titles, so I think he can play at this level for a few more years."

There is a tough competition to take Neuer’s place in the national team despite Low’s trust in him and the consistency he has shown over the years.

Barcelona’s

Marc-Andre ter Stegen

, who has been in Neuer’s shadow for years, now may find himself closer to Germany’s starter spot as Neuer gets older.

Bernd Leno

and

Kevin Trapp

from Arsenal and Eintracht Frankfurt are also showing so much quality and can guarantee Germany’s goalkeeping position in the future.
