The FIGC confirmed last month that Lazio had engaged in ‘violations of federal covid regulations’, including allowing an asymptomatic player to participate in a Serie A match.

Other violations, such as failing to promptly report positive Covid-19 cases to local authorities and allowing three coronavirus-diagnosed players to attend training, led to the club being fined €150,000, with two team doctors have been banned for 12 months. Also, the club’s president, Claudio Lotito, has been banned for seven months for violations of Covid-19 protocols.

Lazio confirmed in a statement that they will appeal the ruling. However, Lazio will not face a points reduction as part of the federal court's sentence.
