Liverpool gets closer to Donyell Malen
The Reds are the most serious option for PSV striker Malen.
Liverpool
,
AC Milan
, and
Juventus
have shown interest in
PSV Eindhoven’s22-year-old striker
Donyell Malen, but Liverpool seems to be the closest contender in the race for the player.
Malen, who started his career at Ajax and then moved to Arsenal in 2015 before joining PSV Eindhoven two years later, has drawn so much attention to himself with his impressive performance at PSV, scoring 23 goals across all the competitions this season.
Gazzetta Dello Sport claims that despite all the interest in the PSV’s Dutch striker, the Reds are the favorites in the race for the 22-year-old striker who has scored 51 goals in 110 matches for PSV Eindhoven.
In the Eredivisie’s list of top scorers Malen stands in the second place alongside Feyenoord’s Steven Berghuis and AZ Alkmaar’s Teun Koopmeiners and Georgios Giakoumakis from VVV-Venlo is the top scorer with 24 goals.
Malen’s impressive performance in the Europa League with seven goals has helped PSV reach the round of 16, which can be one of the reasons behind big sides’ interest in the Dutch international.
Malen’s performance has convinced the Reds to consider him as a serious option to help them in the front line in their current situation with the injuries and fitness problems in their squad.
