Erling Haaland starting to lose patience

Sun 21 March 2021 | 14:16

The Norway international has lost his temper when Borussia Dortmund’s clash against Cologne on Saturday ended with a draw.

Borussia Dortmund

are struggling to get qualified for the

Champions League

as they sit fifth on the

Bundesliga

table, four points behind Eintracht Frankfurt who sit fourth.

Erling Haaland

’s gesture when the final whistle was blown has been aired around the world. The 20-year-old was angry after the draw against

Cologne

and threw his shirt to a player who had asked for it, getting off the pitch muttering something. He has been loyal to his side and contributed immensely; however, it is not enough for his side to fight for the title or a Champions League spot.

The Norway international has met the target 33 times in 31 matches and is unwilling to miss a chance of showcasing his potentials in Europe’s premier competition, which he made clear to his agent,

Mino Raiola

.

Haaland was eager to see out his contract and stay at Dortmund until 2022, insisting that he can develop there greatly before moving to a bigger club if Dortmund would be willing to let him depart in the summer of 2022 for a price tag of €75m. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Dortmund facing a bad sporting moment, and Haaland’s rapid development, the plan could be brought forward sooner.
