‘Man City are the best’ – Ancelotti after Everton FA Cup exit

Sat 20 March 2021 | 21:36

Manchester City keep quadruple hopes alive this season as they manage to beat Everton and reach the FA Cup semi-finals.

Everton

manager

Carlo Ancelotti

was satisfied with his side’s performance against

Manchester City

and said his team did the best they can do against the best team in the world.

The Blues resisted for more than 80 minutes against Premier League leaders in FA Cup quarter-finals at Goodison Park.

But Manchester City’s bid for an unprecedented quadruple of major trophies stayed alive thanks to late goals by

Ilkay Gundogan

and

Kevin De Bruyne

.

"We were almost there, we did well and we did the best that we can do. We defended well and for at least 80 minutes, we had the game under control,"

Ancelotti told

BT Sport

after the final whistle on Saturday

.

"I am satisfied because we were beaten by the best team in the world - they are the best.

"We wanted to keep them uncomfortable. Of course, they are comfortable with the ball but we defended well and we didn't concede space. We played the game that we wanted to play.

"They have the best bench in the world. It was a good experience for us and there are no regrets.
