Greenwood wants to be successful in the final third of the season with a mental preparation.
Mason Greenwood, who has not scored atManchester United
for a long time, defended his performance and claimed that not everything is scoring goals.
Greenwood scored 17 goals in his first season in Manchester United and was expected to become United's main No. 9 soon. However, the 19-year-old striker has failed to live up to expectations this season and has lost his place in the starting line-up to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but he believes there has been too much focus on his goalscoring performance.
"I think it’s about keeping the right mentality,"
he toldclub's official website
"As you know, here at the club there’s always been a lot of goalscorers and I think the main focus that they had was just to keep the mentality strong.
“It’s not all about goals, obviously I love scoring goals but my overall play has been improving and I’d probably say I’ve done better this year with my general play, assists and stuff like that. I think my defending off the ball and on the ball is improving and I’m pleased with that.
“Obviously I’d like to be scoring more goals and when those two things combine together I’ll be back."
