Understanding between me and conte improved - Eriksen
The Danish star has been able to work well with his Italian coach this season.
midfielder Christian Eriksen has claimed that the mutual understanding between him and Antonio Conte has gradually increased.
The Danish midfielder had a difficult start at the beginning of his time at Inter and there were many rumors about his departure. He was often close to the exit doors of the club and it was said that the dispute between him and Conte had escalated.
However, the Italian coach gradually played him and now he has become one of the key players of his team. The former Spurs star claimed that the mutual understanding between him and Conte has improved.
“I don’t know if it’s a new Eriksen or the old one who plays a little more,” he told DAZN. “In the current system I play a little lower, so I’m more involved in defensive situations. I have to be ready for tackles or to get the ball back. Obviously, I usually played more advanced and I had to adapt.
“I gradually learned and now I know very well how I have to play. I’ve been here for a year now and every day we do what the coach asks of us. Conte and I had to get to know each other. Now, he knows me, and I know him better. This makes it easier to understand how to play certain matches.
“You can see that it’s different than before, when [Marcelo] Brozovic was a bit lonely. It’s up to the coach to decide our positions. If you see, we don’t play like that in all games. It also depends on the opponent and how we can hurt them."
Eriksen has played 24 games for his team this season, scoring one goal.
