Joan Laporta lays down his future plans for Messi

The Blaugrana president is reportedly planning for a long term future with the Argentine promising that Messi will be given a specific position at Camp Nou once he retires.

Barcelona

president, Joan Laporta, is looking forward to discuss

Lionel Messi

’s future with the

La Liga

club as he attempts to offer a life-long deal to the Argentine.

Despite his plan to reduce Messi’s salary, Laporta hopes to convince the Blaugrana star into a long stay by promising the 33-year-old a position on their side by the time he decides to retire as footballer.

Though there is yet to be an official announcement about Messi’s future, Barcelona are expected to soon sit down with the player to discuss his contract as he continues to lead their squad as an example for their young generations.
