Solskjaer considering Dalot’s return to Man Utd

Thu 18 March 2021 | 9:29

The full-back is enjoying an excellent season on loan at San Siro, but the Red Devils are not willing to let him go permanently.

Manchester United

boss

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

is satisfied with

Diogo Dalot

’s performance at

AC Milan

and has said he is looking forward to having him back.

United bought the 21-year-old defender for £19million from

Porto

in 2018 but the Portuguese suffered from injuries and struggled for game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

However, Dalot has remained fit all season on loan at AC Milan and the Italian side are planning to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

"The plan was always for Diogo this season, or the main thing for Diogo, was to be fit,"

Solskjaer said at a press conference ahead of his side's Europa League tie against AC Milan on Thursday

"He never managed to be fit for a long spell when he was here and was unfortunate with injuries.

"Now he's kept fit all season; he's been available for them. He's playing at a big club, big expectations and a great history, so it's been a good year for him.

"So, of course, I've been very pleased with his development this season. He's our player and we're looking forward to having him back."
