The Bilbao star is still upset with the behavior of Espanyol fans.

Athletic Bilbao

striker Inaki Williams has claimed that he felt humiliated after being subjected to racist insults in last year's game against Espanyol.

During a match between the two teams at the RCDE Stadium in January 2020, Williams faced racist insults from Catalan fans present during the substitution. According to

Cadena Ser,

Williams gave a video footage to the court on Wednesday showing two fans on the podium of Espanyol Stadium insulting him racistly .One of them denied the case in court and the other did not appear in court.

According to the prosecutor, "many abuses were chanted against him, and certainly the purpose of these abuses was to humiliate him and insult his identity for racist reasons."

Born into a Ghanaian family in Bilbao, Williams played 280 games for the first team and scored 64 goals. Last March, he claimed that if this behavior continued, he and his teammates would leave the field in protest.
