West Ham’s Michail Antonio favors Jamaica over England

The Hammers frontman has given his approval to join Jamaica, after he was approached by the latter to join their squad last month.

According to

Sky Sports News

,

West Ham

striker,

Michail Antonio

has chosen to represent

Jamaica

instead of

England

after he was approached by the former to join their squad last month.

Antonio, who was at cross paths with choosing his place of birth, England, and choosing his parents’ country, the Caribbean island, has eventually decided to be a part of the Jamaican team.

Despite being called up to join England international squad under both Sam Allardyce and Gareth Southgate, Antonio never made his senior debut and joining Jamaica could provide him more regular appearances.

Still Antonio’s decision to join Jamaica came in a time when England is facing a major shortage in strikers considering that

Tammy Abraham

,

Danny Ings

, and

Callum Wilson

are all going through treatment, with

Harry Kane

and

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

being the only available options for Southgate’s front-line.

England’s upcoming match, which will be in the World Cup qualifying campaign, will be played against

San Marino

, before they face

Albania

and

Poland

.
