has talked aboutDonnarumma’s
improvements as a goalkeeper, but he insists that the Italy international needs to direct his teammates on the pitch.
“He’s a great talent. He’s a very calm boy,”
Dida told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“But also very emotional in the games.
“He loves Milan, he’s very attached to the team and makes it clear. [You hear him screaming] because the stadiums are empty, and therefore you feel what you couldn’t perceive before.
“But a concierge has to manage a department. Gigio screams and does well.”
Dida insists that one of Donnarumma’s weaknesses was his communication on the pitch, which he has improved.
“The first weak point was communication, but Gigio overcame it. We are working on many aspects, but Donnarumma has already improved from this point of view.”
“A goalkeeper cannot allow himself weaknesses, he must direct.”
The former Brazil goalkeeper was known for his impressive performances when the game got to the penalty shootouts. Now he has talked about Donnarumma’s potential to make saves when it gets to the penalties.
“Save, save. You have to train every day and if it happens in a match…
“Gigio is tall, he’s well built and has a lot of room for improvements in all the fundamental aspects.
“He was on the pitch for an endless string of penalties against Rio Ave in Portugal. Those are the situations that helps you develop.”
