Van de Beek prepared to leave Manchester United

Tue 16 March 2021 | 13:39

Manchester United Dutch star has asked to leave the club since he believes there is no place for him in Solskjaer’s plans.

Donny van de Beek

joined

Manchester United

from

Ajax

in the summer transfer window last year with a contract worth £35m. The Dutch international has made 13 appearances in the Premier League for the Red Devils, only two of which came as starts.

The

Daily Star

claims that Van de Beek is out of patience and ready to leave Manchester United at the end of the season.

It is said that the 23-year-old wants to speak with the club’s executive vice-chairman,

Ed Woodward

, before the end of the season to discuss his future at the team.

Many of Van de Beek’s compatriots have advised him to leave Manchester United as soon as possible if he doesn’t want his lack of playing time to affect his future on an international level and prevent him from being called up for national duty for Euro 2020.

Despite the Dutchman’s dissatisfaction with his playing time, the Red devils boss

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

has previously claimed although he acknowledges Van de Beek’s frustration, there are players in his position that are doing really well.

The Red Devils’ boss said:

“I wouldn’t say that Donny is happy.

“Of course, he wants to play more, but he gets about his job in the right manner.

“We are doing well and have got players who are playing really well in his position.”
