Dinamo's manager Mamic resigns for being sentenced to time in prison

Mamic, who was most recently Dinamo Zagreb’s manager, is guilty of corruption charges and was sentenced on Monday.

resigned his post given the four years and eight months he has to spend in prison.

The 49-year-old and his brother Zdravko were charged with corruption in 2018.

The court sentence was ruled on Monday.

"

Although I don't feel guilty, I resign as I said before I would do if the sentence was confirmed,"

Mamic said in a statement.

"I wish all the good luck to the club."

Following Mamic’s resignation,

Damir Krznar

took over his job. The 48-year-old is tasked with a very important job as his side is preparing to face Tottenham in the second leg of the Europa League Round 16 on Thursday. The first leg was a 2-0 victory for the Spurs.
