‘Rumors could be true!’ – Zidane on possible Ronaldo return

Mon 15 March 2021 | 17:06

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has spoken of the club’s interest in re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus this summer.

The Portuguese has failed with

Juventus

in each season since moving in 2018. After getting knocked out by

Porto

this season, there have been talks of Ronaldo returning to

Real Madrid

.

The Italian giants are being tipped to cash in on the 36-year-old before he becomes a free agent in 2022.

Real Madrid have missed the 36-year-old since his departure and speculation was rife this week following Juventus’ exit from the Champions League that the La Liga giants could look at re-signing Ronaldo.

And

Zidane

has confirmed that there’s an element of truth in the rumors, and the return of the superstar to Santiago Bernabeu is possible.

The Madrid head coach told

Sky Italia

ahead of his team's Champions League clash with Atalanta on Tuesday:

"Rumours are true? Yes, it could be. We know Cristiano, we know what he has done for Real Madrid, but now he is a Juve player, he is playing with another team. We'll see what his future will be."

Ronaldo and Zidane won three Champions League titles together in their two-and-a-half seasons together in the Spanish capital, while they also won the 2017 La Liga title together.
