Simeone breaks the record being Atletico Madrid manager with 309 wins

Atletico Madrid coach, Diego Simeone has reached a team record with 309 wins after their important 2-1 La Liga triumph against Athletic Bilbao.

have dodged loss in their nine home LaLiga games against Athletic Bilbao under Diego Pablo Simeone. In last night's match, Athletic Bilbao took the lead by Iker Muniain's opener in the 21st minute but at the end of the first half, Marcus Llorente's goal canceled it out, and finally, Luis Suarez secured the win for Atletico in the 51st minute from the penalty spot.

Now the 50-year-old boss has surpassed the benchmark set by team legend, Luis Aragones’, who owns the record of 308 victories being the most victorious Los Rojiblancos manager of all time.

captured the league trophy as a player in 1996 before becoming a manager in 2011.
