The Red Devils put an end to Manchester City's 21-game winning as United picked up their first victory of the season against one of the traditional 'Big Six' on Sunday.

After a 2-0 victory over the Citizens at Etihad, Victor Lindelof urged his team-mates to maintain the same high level until the end of the season.

“We are always confident going into every game. We know we can beat every team,” the Swedish centre-half said.

“It’s a very tough away game to play against a really good team. It shows what a great team we are and what we can do on the pitch.

“We need to keep working hard and hopefully we can get some more wins.”

A 6-1 home defeat to Tottenham in October, goalless draws with City, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal, and a 1-0 home defeat by Arsenal were Manchester United’s prior results against ‘Top Six’ this season.

The Red Devils will next face AC Milan in the first leg of their European tie on Thursday.
