Roma coach Paulo Fonseca hits out at packed game schedule and calls it inhumane to force players to play many games as they might pick up more injuries.

Roma

have to have a big change in the squad for their game against

Genoa

on Sunday as they have many players out of action due to injuries.

“Many coaches believe there are too many games and we’ve seen the injuries at teams like Real Madrid and Liverpool too,”

said

Fonseca

in his press conference

.

“All we need is fewer internationals, for a start, because this is not normal for players. It is inhuman to make players go through this many games.

“Leonardo Spinazzola would need to rest, but we have only three full-backs at the moment and fortunately he is physically very strong. Stephan El Shaarawy and Pedro are both ready to play.

“Veretout has been above all important when attacking for the team this season, so now we have Gonzalo Villar or Lorenzo Pellegrini who can play in that position. Even Henrikh Mkhitaryan could do it, if needed. I will make the right decision for the squad.

“Borja Mayoral is a young player and is doing well, working really hard for the team, so he creates spaces even when he doesn’t score goals.”
