Dortmund CEO says the effects of the pandemic will make it more difficult for the clubs to spend in the transfer market.

Borussia Dortmund

have two major stars in their squad that are being closely watched by Europe’s top clubs.

Erling Haaland

and

Jadon Sancho

are both linked to different clubs and Dortmund will probably receive more offers for them in the summer transfer window. However, Die Schwarzgelben's CEO

Hans-Joachim Watzke

says he doesn’t expect big summer transfers as European clubs have been hit hard by the financial effects of the pandemic.

“Overall, I don't think that crazy things will happen,"

Watzke told

Sky Germany

.

He added:

"I know the situation in the European leagues very well, and the clouds are getting darker instead of lighter,"

Asked if that's also true for PSG and City, Watzke responded:

"[PSG and Man City] are backed by entire states which find ways and means to pump money in.”
