Sat 06 March 2021 | 8:56

West Brom manager Sam Allardyce has slammed the Premier League and claimed it is trying to get the baggies relegated after his side were told to play against Newcastle, just after their 1-0 loss to Everton.

Albion are currently sitting 17th in the Premier League and are nine points adrift of safety and

Allardyce

feels the Premier League’s scheduling of games is not fair.

He said

: “We asked if we could play it next Monday and they said no. Then what do we have to do? Play at 12 on Sunday.

“Thank you very much. That’s really nice of you at the Premier League, helping us to get relegated or trying to get us relegated.

“That’s how it is. You can ask for different dates or times but anyone we asked for has been completely ignored.”

Allardyce is hoping to beat Newcastle to keep their slim hopes of beating the drop alive.
