“It doesn't interest me or annoy me”- Koeman on Xavi and Arteta rumors

Despite the constant rumors about his exit from Camp Nou, the Blaugrana boss insists that he is no longer paying attention to those questioning his position with the La Liga side.

Ronald Koeman admits that he is

“fed up”

with the speculations about his future with

Barcelona

, but the Dutchman insists that the rumors of Xavi or Mikel Arteta being his successor no longer bother him.

With the nearing presidential election of the

La Liga

club, many have started to wonder about Koeman’s position with the team, on which he said:

“People and the media are interested in putting names out there and creating controversy.”

“The most important thing is for me to not get annoyed by it and to focus on preparing the team for the matches we have coming up. So, it doesn't interest me or annoy me when I hear names like Xavi and others.”

“Finally, a new president will be elected this weekend and he will make the decisions. We will talk. I am fed up with these types of questions and have been for a while now.”

“Having a president at a club like Barcelona is so important because it's the biggest club in the world, so it's important for knowing the future - whether that's dealing with my [future], the team or improving things.”

Koeman’s current contract extends till 2022, but with presidential candidate, Victor Font, promising to change things around at the club in case of his win, many believe that Xavi will replace the 57-year-old Blaugrana boss.

On the other hand,

Arsenal

manager, Mikel Arteta, have also been linked with the top position at Camp Nou, but according to

Goal

, there has been no direct contact with the former Barcelona footballer.
