McKennie managed to make his contract with Juventus permanent with his brilliant performances.

Juventus

boss Andrea Pirlo has claimed that he is not surprised by Weston McKennie's good performances, but advised him not to think has made it to the top.

This week Juventus activated the McKennie contract clause that made his contract with Old Lady permanent. The American midfielder, who has played 21 national games, has attracted a lot of attention with his good performances. He joined Juventus on loan from Schalke in the summer and has scored 5 goals and 2 assists in 31 games this season. Now Pirlo, while praising him, emphasized that McKennie should not think that he has made it to the top.

“McKennie didn’t surprise me,”

Pirlo said.

“We had followed him and knew him well.

“The permanent deal must be a starting point for him.

“If he thinks he has reached the top, he has made a mistake and is not on the right path.”

Pirlo also praised Federico Chiesa and Dejan Kulusevski and said:

“The youngsters have entered well. They are doing even better than expected.

“The veterans are giving their contribution, they have given a big hand to help the new players integrate.”
