The list of Real Madrid injured players has expanded because today Real Madrid announced that Mariano Diaz will miss the important match against Atletico Madrid derby clash due to a pelvic injury.

Real Madrid announced today that

Mariano Diaz

will miss Sunday's match against Atletico Madrid.

Diaz was substituted in the 61st minute of the match against Sociedad, which ended 1-1. Mariano has made 15 appearances for Los Blancos this season, scoring one goal.

A statement published on the club's website read:

"Following the tests carried out today on our player, Mariano Diaz, by the Real Madrid medical department, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury to his left external obturator

.

"His recovery will be monitored."

The 27-year-old striker's absence has not yet been estimated, but he is expected to be out for two or three weeks. In this way, in addition to the match against Atletico, Diaz will probably miss the match against Elche. It also looks like Zidane will not have him in the game against Atalanta.
