Thu 04 March 2021 | 11:13

Followed by a defeat Fiorentina had to suffer with a 2-1 result against Roma, the head coach mentioned their lack of luck as a factor to lose this game.

Cesar Prandelli

believes that

Fiorentina

did not deserve to suffer a defeat.

Fiorentina lost the match

against Roma with a 2-1 result

with an own goal registered by

Spinazzola

in less than 15 minutes since scoring the opening goal for Roma.

Prandelli talked to

Sky Sport Italia

about the match. He said:

“We conceded another goal by a millimetre, this is the third, having seen two goals disallowed by millimeters.

“We worked hard, took a strong approach, but clearly you need to be far more alert, determined and concentrated in the final minutes.

“This is another game we did not deserve to lose, but that’s the reality of the situation. We can’t cry over spilt milk. We need to take the positives and try to move on.

Igor

and

Gaetano Castrovilli

both got injured,

Erick Pulgar

then asked to come off, so things are piling up a bit. We’re not fortunate. Franck Ribery was injured only a few days ago, so I couldn’t risk anything more.

“Quality is all well and good, it’s necessary, but even more so is hard work. We need more workers all over the pitch.”

The game also was stopped in the 13th minute to remember

Davide Astori

, Fiorentina captain that died three years ago due to a cardiac arrest in his sleep.

The head coach talked about him mentioning his "professionalism". He told the reporters a memory he remembered:

“I remember once I was in Florence, a car stopped right in front of me and I didn’t know what was going on. He got out and introduced me to his daughter. His eyes were full of joy. His memory lives forever with us.”
