The USMNT star has agreed to join the Serie A side for a permanent deal after enjoying a loan-spell at Allianz Stadium.
The
USMNTmidfielder and
Schalkeloanee,
Weston McKennie, has agreed to join
Juventusfor an initial fee of €18.5 million after enjoying a loan-spell with the Old Lady in which he made 31 appearances.
McKennie’s current contract will extend till 2025 with €6.5m to be paid to the 22-year-old in case any changes were made regarding his contract duration.
The Bianconeri’s first interest in McKennie came in 2020 after they paid €4.5m to loan him from Schalke.
Though adding McKennie to Andrea Pirlo’s squad may have been a surprising move from the Italian side, it still benefited the team considering that they had already parted with some of their midfielders around that time.
In all of his Serie A appearances this season, McKennie has been able to score four goals while adding another in their 3-0 Champions League win against
Barcelona.
The Old Lady hope this move will not only benefit McKennie, but also it would help them in selling the player for up to €50m in the future.
