“Today and tomorrow I am the manager of Arsenal football club and I am really enjoying it. And I want to do much better than what we have done so far.”

“What I can tell you is I feel privileged to manage this football club and that I’m extremely happy.”

According to

, Laporta has already prepared a shortlist for Koeman’s replacements with Arteta being one of his potential targets, but still there has been no direct contact with the 38-year-old about the job position,

The presidential election is set to take place on March 8 as Laporta competes with Victor Font and Toni Freixa for the position.

Since Arteta still has two more years to his contract, he is not concerned about any contract talks at the moment as he hopes to see his men finish the current season in the best way possible.

“We are in the middle of the season, we have a lot to play for and at the moment it’s not a priority,”

he said.

“I think that it’s OK. I still have a contract here, I am happy here and I don’t think it’s something urgent.”
