The Prince of Johor is on the verge of taking over the Spanish club Valencia from Peter Lim.
According to reports from
, the Malaysian has reached an agreement withValencia
for purchasing the club on Monday.
The Prince of Johor posted pictures on social media with the badge of Valencia. In quotes from
, the southern Malaysian state prince said: “
I am not someone to change the crest or the tradition of your club, as I said before. I am not a businessman. I am here for the glory.”
“I am a prince, not a businessman. Money does not motivate me; glory motivates me and make history. It is not a secret that I love football, I am passionate about it.”
Los Che supporters protested outside the stadium in August, asking Lim to depart the club. In a poll carried by Marca, 86 percent of the fans were confident he is selling Valencia.
Due to the financial crisis, Los Che should cut back on their wage budget for about 40 percent this season which explains the disappointment of the squad as Rodrigo Moreno, Ferran Torres, Dani Parejo and Francis Coquelin departed.
