The Uruguayan star remains one of United's key players this season.
Former Manchester United striker Mark Hughes believes Cavani at the top is the player the striker needs in his attack.
The Uruguayan striker joined Manchester United from Paris Saint-Germain in October as a free agent and has performed well during that time. However, he is 34 years old and has passed his bright days. Now Mark Hughes claims that Cavani can still help the team a lot and he regrets why he was not recruited 5 years ago.
“United have got good quality at the top end of the pitch,”
Hughes toldSky Sports
"[Marcus] Rashford and [Mason] Greenwood are highly thought of, but maybe they need Cavani five years ago when he was in his pomp.
'They probably got him at the wrong time, but he is still an outstanding centre forward. When I see him playing in this team I think he gives them more focus, and they have confidence of giving the ball to his feet and things happen around him.”
