Reports claimed that the candidate for the presidential role at Barcelona is interested in bringing Mikel Arteta.
Some reports suggested a few days back that Joan Laporta, one of the three candidates to become the president of
Barcelonais interested to replace Ronald Koeman with Mikel Arteta. However,
Goalreports that the candidate is not interested in bringing the Spanish manager and there has been no contact between Barcelona and
Arsenal’s current manager.
Barca’s presidential election was set to be in January but there were some delays for several reasons, therefore, the next president will be appointed on March 8. Laporta, Victor Font, and Toni Freixa will compete to take the presidential seat at Nou Camp.
Laporta was the president of the Catalan club back from 2003 to 2010 and he had a very successful time when he managed the club. The 58-year-old claims that he is the only candidate capable of convincing Lionel Messi to stay while the other candidate, Victor Font says that Messi’s departure won’t be the end of the world.
