Sun 28 February 2021 | 8:50

The 21-year-old striker who joined Real Sociedad from Dortmund in 2019, has been among the hot prospects in Europe. Scoring 12 La Liga goals this season, the Swede is among Imanol Alguacil‘s driving forces to secure a Top Four finish at the end of the season.

ESPN

revealed last week that

Barcelona

are considering signing

Alexander Isak

as a cheaper option than

Erling Haaland

and

Kylian Mbappe

as the Swede has a €70m release clause at the Estadio Anoeta.

However,

Isak

can be a decent cheap replacement for

Haaland

at

Dortmund

as the club owns a €30m buyback option on him.

Dortmund’s

Sporting Director,

Michael Zorc

, told

Marca

:

“We believe that Alex took the right step to go to Real Sociedad and San Sebastián.

“At first, he impressed as a substitute, scoring goals. This season he has become a regular starter and of course we are following him, but we are happy to have Haaland in our team.”
