Celtic to appoint a sporting director from Juventus or Manchester City

With Neil Lennon resigning as the club's manager on Wednesday, there will be big changes at Celtic at the end of the season as the club aims to replace their sporting director as well as appointing a new head coach.

As a bid to modernize the club,

Celtic

are keen on appointing a sporting director as

Lawwell

set to leave the club after 17 years.

David Webb

,

Fergal Harkin

, and

Matteo Tognozzi

are three candidates the club are considering.

The former

Tottenham, Bournemouth,

and

Huddersfield

recruitment chief,

David Webb

, helped

Eddie Howe

, who is among the top candidates to become Celtic’s new boss, build the team that got the

Cherries

promoted to the Premier League in 2015.

Their other candidate,

Fergal Harkin

, has been working with

Man City's

recruitment staff for the past 11 years and currently is the club’s Football Partnerships and Pathways manager, focusing on managing the development of City's loaned players.

Meanwhile,

Matteo Tognozzi

has been working with

Juve's

managing director

Fabio Paratici

since 2017 to identify and bring in the best young talent.
