The ex-Red Devils legend has requested for bail extension after he was accused of assaulting his on again off again girlfriend back in November.

Wales

manager and former

Manchester United

winger, Ryan Giggs, has been granted a bail extension after he was arrested for suspicious assault of his

“on-off girlfriend”

, Kate Greville.

On Friday, a Greater Manchester Police spokesman released a statement, which read:

“A 46-year-old man (now aged 47) arrested on suspicion of section 39 common assault and section 47 assault in November 2020 has had his bail extended until Saturday May 1.”

“This relates to an incident reported to police at 10.05pm on Sunday November 1 2020, on Chatsworth Road, Worsley.”

“A file remains with the CPS and a decision is expected in due course.”

Back in November, police were seen near the 47-year-old’s house in Worsley, Greater Manchester, to investigate the case, which involved his 36-year-old PR worker girlfriend.

At the same time a statement was released on behalf of Giggs, saying:

“Mr. Giggs denies all allegations of assault made against him.”

“He is co-operating with the police and will continue to assist them with their ongoing investigations.”

Due to his arrest, Giggs missed Wales’ Nations League fixtures.

Switzerland

on June 12.

During his career time as a footballer, Giggs earned 64 appearances with Wales and as for his time with the Red Devils he won several trophies including thirteen

Premier League

, two Champions League, four FA Cup, and three League Cup titles.

In the meantime, he is also the co-owner of League Two club,
