Wed 24 February 2021 | 12:49

Inter Milan means to persuade midfielder Nicolo Barella for a new agreement soon, as indicated by an Italian media report.

CalcioMercato.com

affirms that while Barella has caught the eyes of some top clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, the Nerazzurri fully plan to give him another deal, and it shouldn't take too long for the offer to arrive.

Barella has been probably the best player for the team this

Serie A

season, nudging his form to the next level after a promising first crusade under Antonio Conte.

The 24-year-old is supposedly in line to turn into the club's next skipper after Samir Handanovic

and has received acknowledgments from Beppe Bergomi, Nicola Berti, and Marcello Lippi.

Barella is now under agreement with Inter until the finish of the 2023-24 season, and the report didn't determine how far Inter arrangement was on expanding his contract.

This season the ex-Cagliari midfielder has shown up in all tournaments, wherein he has scored three goals and provided ten assists.

Barella's previous Italy under-21 manager Luigi Di Biagio thinks he is an illustration of the ideal modern footballer.
