Inter are top of Serie A with an impressive 3-0 win over AC Milan on Sunday, four points behind the Rossoneri.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

enjoyed the Conte men's show in Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina and hopes that his former team will finally win the Scudetto after 11 years.

"

I saw the derby, I liked the result

," Rummenigge told Sky Sport Italia on Tuesday.

"I congratulated Beppe Marotta, who is my friend.

"I'm happy because, after years of suffering, Inter are now having a happy moment.

"Now they are the big favourites and I wish with all my heart that they win it, also because that's what the fans are asking for.

"I'm crossing my fingers."

Rummenigge, who played for Inter for three years between 1984 and 1987, praised Lukaku for his stunning performance in the Derby della Madonnina.

"

Lukaku is good, he played very well against AC Milan, as he did in previous games

,"  the Bayern Munich chief executive added.

"He works a lot for the team, he scores and assists, I like him a lot.

"The assist for the first goal in the derby was exceptional, even on a technical level, a quality for which he is often criticised."
