Ramos has become a role model for young footballers with his brilliant performances and the honors he has gained over the years.
Atalanta defender Cristian Romero claimed that Sergio Ramos had always been his role model before his side clashed withReal Madrid
in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Ramos has been with Real Madrid since 2005 and has won many titles. He has won La Liga five times, the Champions League four times, the World Cup once and the Euro twice. The Spanish star has always been considered one of the best defenders in the world, and now the 22-year-oldAtalanta
defender praised Los Blancos' captain before facing Real.
“I have followed Sergio Ramos since I was little because I have always enjoyed watching Real Madrid,”
he told Uefa.com.
“Especially when he played against Barcelona, because [Lionel] Messi was on the pitch. Sergio is undoubtedly one of my idols and for them, it will be an important absence.”
“Real are undoubtedly a club that has a great history. At the moment, they are not in the best shape but we are focused on ourselves.
“We believe we can win. We believe in ourselves. We must put down a great performance to go through to the quarter-finals at the expense of such a strong and prestigious opponent.
“It will be very difficult, but we are confident in our means, we will continue to offer our football.”
