The young star believes he’s starting to get used to himself being one of the key players for Borussia Dortmund’s squad.

Borussia Dortmund

striker,

Erling Haaland

, admits that he’s already starting to feel like a leader with the Bundesliga side after scoring a brace in their recent derby win against

Schalke

.

Asked if he feels like a leader with his current team, Haaland told

ViaPlay Fotball

:

"You can say that. I feel like I take more and more space.”

"The club trusts me and expects me to tilt games in our favour. And I enjoy being in that role, so I think I agree with you there."

Adding on his wish to inspire younger generations at the club, the Norwegian said:

"I feel like I've experienced a lot, despite my young age.”

"I'm trying to take care of the ones younger than me, and I try to help everyone get better."

The 20-year-old joined Dortmund for €20 million (£17m/$24m) coming from

RB Salzburg

to score 43 goals in 43 outings and already adding 27 more to his tally for this season.

Haaland, whose current value is reported to be €80m (£69m/$97m), is expected to have several top European clubs bidding on him by the summer with

Real Madrid

,

Paris Saint-Germain

,

Manchester City

, and

Manchester United

being among those to have the player under their radar.

Despite admitting to being happy with Dortmund, the financial difficulties caused by the pandemic could lead the German club into selling the 20-year-old in the upcoming transfer season.
