Max Aarons will leave Norwich, says Delia Smith

Norwich’s joint majority shareholder says the young right-back has developed into a top-level player who will inevitably leave the English club.

Max Aarons

has established himself as a key player for

Daniel Farke

’s Norwich side as they lead the Championship table with 61 points. Many European clubs are interested in signing the 21-year-old as he continues to shine for the Canaries.

Norwich

has told

Bayern Munich

that they would have to pay £30-35m if they want to sign the young right-back. Speaking at the

FT Business of Football summit

,

Delia Smith

has admitted that Aarons will inevitably leave the Championship club.

"Luckily, because of this wonderful team behind the scenes, we have some really lovely players.

"They've got a nice temperament and Max Aarons is one of the best. He is going to be one of the top footballers and it won't be at Norwich.

"He knows that, we know that. But we didn't have any problem with Max or his parents on this particular occasion and this particular deal. Obviously, we will lose him, but that is part of our plan."

He added:

"We bring forward young players and they're really good. We're really proud of James Maddison and Ben Godfrey, it's lovely for us. It's what we do. We can't hang onto players."
